NOTICE OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS

Proposed Residential development and construction of roads on
Erf 162, Pearly Beach (cnr Rotunda and Esplanade)

A Notice of Intent to Apply has been submitted to and acknowledged by the Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning ("DEA&DP") for the construction of 14 residential group housing units and the construction of roads on Erf 162, Pearly Beach (Overstrand Municipality). Doug Jeffery Environmental Consultants have been appointed by ESPY Properties (PTY) Ltd to undertake an environmental investigation of the above proposal.

Notice is hereby given of the public participation process in terms of Section 24(5) read with section 44 of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2006).

The procedures for a Basic Assessment are being followed for the proposed project.

Copies of the Draft Basic Assessment Report will be made available for comment from the 1 October to 30 October 2007 at:
