| Angling Results: Saturday 11 August 2007 The winter has been hard on most anglers as catches has not been that great. A few, however, has been very lucky and brought in some nicely sized fish. In July's competition Jan Brink caught a 2.9kg Steenbras to the left of the caravan park and Deon Engelke caught a 3kg Steenbras. The day belonged to Jason Hitge with a 7.8kg Musselcracker caught on prawn at Blue water Bay. The competition in August was VERY quiet and Dean Versfeld brought home a 1.4kg Galjoen and Jacques Viviers a 1.2kg Galjoen. The weekend of 24 August saw a few of the club's anglers and their families go down to Jongensfontein for a "weekend away". The weather was not great and neither the angling. Oom Pietie was the only lucky angler with a Galjoen of just over 2kg's on Friday. Nobody else caught anything , except of course the inevitable babelaas or 2. The current points status is as follows:
The one thing that never fails to happen, bad weather…………..nice weather………………great catches……………….no catches……….is the "kuier" afterwards.
There are now 4 competitions remaining in the 2007 season. Jacques Viviers remains at no.1 with 126.8 points, but the rankings can change very quickly………….1 big catch and the cat's among the pigeons. The next club competition will be held on Saturday 8 September 2007 and weigh-in will take place at 17h00 for the last time this year. From October weigh-in will be at 18h00. Remember to register on Friday night. This competition will be followed by a Hobo dance on Saturday evening. Fish and chips, as well as dessert will be served. At R50 per person this is an evening not to be missed. See you there! "Stywe lyne" till next time. |
