Pearly Beach Ratepayers' Association
31 March 2008 — Minutes
| MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE NEW 2008 PEARLY BEACH RATEPAYERS' COMMITTEE HELD AT THE OFFICES OF ANDROUX ESTATES, PEARLY BEACH, AT 16H30, ON MONDAY, 31 MARCH, 2008. PRESENT: Dudley Coetzee (Chairman); Lawson Crichton; Eugene Hendry; Harry Kleinhans; Shirley Coetzee (Secretary) APOLOGIES: Nelia Muller; Johnny & Norma van Wyk Dudley welcomed everyone and Shirley opened the meeting in prayer. PORTFOLIOS The following portfolios were allocated: Lawson : Safety & Security DRIVING ON THE BEACH It was noted that vehicles other than police vehicles have been driving on the beach. Every effort would be made to identify these vehicles and the registration numbers will be passed onto the SAPS. REFUSE TRANSFER DEPOT It was agreed that the Ratepayers' Association register as an interested and affected party. Dudley would approach the Municipality to obtain clarity on what is planned as the advertisement is extremely vague and broad. CORRESPONDENCE A letter of thanks would be sent to the Municipality who had responded very promptly to our request that the road verges be mowed and that the litter which had accumulated over the holiday season be cleared. Alan Espey the owner of Erf 135 had written to the Municipality regarding alien vegetation on some properties and had copied the Pearly Beach RPA. His concern was noted. Jan Koekemoer had contacted Dudley and pointed out that one of the conditions for the re-zoning and subdivision of Puren Estate was that an alternative road to the beach be provided. As vehicles are no longer permitted on the beach, and as Eskom is likely to close all access to the beach in the area of the proposed Nuclear Power Station, Jan asked if we still wanted this access to be provided as the original request came from the PB RPA. Dudley had circulated this request to all the committee members.
After discussion it was agreed that an alternative access road to
the beach was still a requirement and that a servitude should be
registered over this road. Letters of thanks would be forwarded to Beatrice Bollmann, Frik Prinsloo and Nina Martin for their contribution to the RPA during their term of office while on the committee. FINANCE At the AGM Harry suggested that the RPA investigate the possibility of opening a Money Market Account. Eugene reported that a Money Market Account requires a minimum balance of R 20 000. However if the RPA planned its withdrawals we could transfer the funds into a 32 Day Call Account which would yield a better interest rate than the savings account used. It was agreed that we should open a 32 Day Call Account and Dudley and Eugene would attend to this. NEW MEMBERS The following were accepted as new members of the PB RPA: The next meeting will take place at the offices of Androux Estates
on Monday, There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was closed at 17h45. |
