Situated
2.5 hours (185 km) drive from Cape Town, and 20 minutes (25 km)
from Gansbaai, in the Western Cape, South Africa, this peaceful
little town is still relatively undeveloped. Although the concentration
of permanent residents is increasing, over half the houses still
belong to holiday-makers and people coming down for the weekend.
Under the travel section, there are Maps

What to do
in Pearly Beach
Pearly Beach
is a popular angling spot, and on some weekends the beach is lined
with fishermen, all trying to catch the biggest fish. The Angling
and Recreational Club holds competitions on a regular
basis, as well as offering meals and a big-screen TV.
Apart from
fishing, the beaches are perfect for long walks and cycles. Just
remember to keep your eyes open for Southern Right Whales, coming
here to mate and calve from about July to January. It is said that
if the whales are breaching, bad weather is on the way! For more
on what to do, check out What
To Do. For interesting places further afield, go to

For local events, have a look at the Events
